Ruby gave birth to a healthy litter of dark fox red puppies on Wednesday 29th July. We are now accepting expressions of interest for two males from this litter. Please see the details below and, if you feel one of our puppies may be the right fit for your family, get in touch telling us a little about yourselves and your circumstances.
This litter has been carefully planned for health, temperament, trainability and breed integrity.
A correct stamp of Labrador and a true fox red shade of yellow, we planned this litter to keep a puppy for ourselves and continue the line of wonderful Labradors that we are so lucky to share our lives with.
Dam (Mum), Highhouse Red Ruby of Wyngallow (by Drakeshead Fisk of Leacaz), is the most affectionate, loving and loyal bitch. As happy as a companion spending the day climbing fells as she is at our feet in front of the fire. We also have her mother, Flicker, who was accepted as a Therapy Dog in 2020.
Sire (Father), Cottershot Whetstone Ghyll (‘Shug’), is an affectionate, intelligent, gentle and willing dog. He is keen, biddable and highly athletic. Shug is a real ‘family man’ and a true asset to Labrador breeding.
Both Ruby and Shug are DNA profiled and fully tested against all KC-recommended health tests.

HNPK, PRCD-PRA, EIC, CNM and SD2 clear, with annual BVA eye testing – unaffected. Excellent EBV and COI.
This is Ruby’s second litter. Progeny from Ruby’s first litter and Flicker’s litters have gone on to become gundogs, agility dogs, assistance dogs, therapy dogs and, of course, fell and fireside companions. This litter has been bred with those same qualities in mind.
The puppies are being raised in our busy family home, alongside children and other animals. They will be well socialised before leaving us for their forever families, who we expect to continue their socialisation and training.
Puppies will go home with their new families, with their KC registration, first vaccination, microchipped, five weeks free insurance and fully up-to-date with worming and flea treatments. In the preceding weeks, families will receive a full puppy guide, including feeding and initial training advice; with regular photo, video & VLOG updates, alongside a lifetime of support.
