About This Dog for Adoption

Buddy's ideal home

Buddy is a beautiful Labrador cross German Shepherd, with a happy-go-lucky character. Friendly to all whom he encounters, Buddy is a dog who LOVES to love! However, while he is a friendly chap, he has been known to hump people when he gets overwhelmed. Because of this, we feel he would better be suited to an adult only home. Buddy doesn’t always have the best manners when greeting other dogs and he can be a little ‘intense’ for some. However, he does calm down after the initial greeting, so could have some walking buddies to enjoy his walks with but will need to be the only animal. A multi-carer household is needed, so that there’s always someone around to keep him company, as he does find it challenging when being left alone. Please note: Buddy is currently on anti-inflammatory medication due to having stiff hips, and while he does love his walks, his new family will need to be mindful not to over-exercise him.

Could you be Buddy's perfect match?

Buddy loves to show off how clever he is and has a variety of tricks in his repertoire – offer him a treat, and he’ll do a ‘sit’, ‘wait’, ‘paw’, ‘high five’, ‘down’, ‘spin’, and ‘play dead’. He does enjoy his food but despite being part Lab, he can be picky with some treats! Despite this, he does love a schmacko and likes to eat his meals in fun enrichment, such as kongs or licki-mats! His other most-loved pastimes include carrying around a soft teddy, sniffing about on his walks, and relaxing with his humans on the sofa in the evenings.
