Ozzy

Ozzy's ideal home

Introducing Ozzy who is a 5-year-old Labrador cross looking for a new home through no fault of his own. Since returning to the centre, he has quickly become a staff favourite, he was struggling with the stress of kennel life but has settled amazingly in one of our foster homes. Ozzy will need to be the only dog in his new home due to his high energy levels. Ozzy thrives on human company, so a home where he will only be left for short periods is essential. Ozzy is best suited to a family with experience of handling highly excitable dogs, especially those that are easily aroused. He will need a fully secure garden to explore safely and could live with older secondary school children who are familiar with large dogs that are very energetic. Ozzy can be strong on the lead at first, but with positive reinforcement and ongoing training, this can be managed. Ozzy would need multiple meets here at the centre to build confidence with his potential new adopters and whilst Ozzy does have some medical needs that will need to be discussed with our vet team, his loving nature makes him well worth the extra care. Our behaviour team will also be on hand to have a chat about his further needs.

Could you be Ozzy's perfect match?

Ozzy may be a bit of a bull in a China shop, but his love for human interaction is undeniable, and he's sure to become your new best friend. He’s quite the foodie, with a particular fondness for cheese, which is a great motivator for his ongoing training. Ozzy loves to play, especially in the run with his toys, and has a special affection for tennis balls and his beloved sprout toy—perhaps he thinks it's one of his five a day! One of his favourite things to do is jump into the back of the car, making him the perfect companion for your next adventure. Ozzy’s energetic and playful personality, combined with his deep affection for his human friends, makes him a truly special dog who will bring endless joy to his new family.
