Bartholomew
Bartholomew's ideal home
Bartholomew is looking to an active home that has a quiet atmosphere and a predictable routine. Batholomew is a young, excitable boy who is still learning his doggy manners and would be best suited to being the only dog in his home while he learns to interact appropriately. He is friendly with other dogs but doesn’t always know when a dog doesn’t want to play, so he would benefit from owners who will give him opportunities to meet other dogs with so he can keep working on his social skills. Due to being a big, bouncy boy, any children in the home should be aged 14 years and over who will be able to manage with him jumping up occasionally while he learns to keep all his paws on the floor. As he is still quite young, Bartholomew isn’t keen on being left on his own very much, so he will need minimal leaving time when he first goes home and gradual introductions to being left once he has settled in to his routine. He would also benefit from not having to many new visitors when he is first adopted so he can gain his confidence in his new environment. He has a little bit of basic training but would benefit from owners who will teach him more and he will need housetraining so he will need access to a private, secure garden with high fences. Bartholomew will need to meet his adopters multiple times to build a strong bond prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. If you rent your property, please have written permission from your landlord ready once you have submitted your application to avoid delays, as it will be required early on in the rehoming process if you are shortlisted.
Could you be Bartholomew's perfect match?
Bartholomew is a happy, loving and very handsome 1 year old Labrador Cross who loves a little fuss. Once he really gets to know you he is partial to a lap cuddle! He enjoys being outside, exploring new places with lots of sniffs, is a pretty dab hand at our agility equipment and plays with toys really nicely. He is a very good boy, staying very calm and relaxed while having his harness and lead clipped on and he engages well in training when tasty treats are on offer. This boy has huge potential for learning lots of new things! He is a lovely young lad who, with training, love and patience will make a really lovely companion for a very lucky home.
