About This Dog

Dougie's ideal home

Dougie is 4 years old and looking for a quiet home with an understanding family. An adult-only environment as the only pet would suit him perfectly and give him all the time and space he needs to build his confidence. Once he is settled younger visitors should be ok though, as he is friendly! Dougie can share his walks with calm, quiet poochy pals but does find muzzled dogs a worry. Any walks he takes will need to be nearby in quiet areas to set him up for success. With time and confidence building we’ve no doubt he’ll do really well.

Could you be Dougie's perfect match?

Dougie is a fabulous boy with so much love to give. After a bit of a tumultuous time he’s looking for a family that will help restore his confidence, building on the fantastic progress he has made while in our care. Many aspects of home life will need gradual introductions and confidence building. This includes being left alone, though we do think he’ll be fine with a couple of hours if this is built up. He’s currently on training to build positive associations in and around the car and enjoys playing with toys as a reward. Dougie adores being around people he knows, whether he is having snuggles or playing ball. He has found walks a bit more stressful, but has now started to enjoy them and is sniffing and exploring a lot more. A patient family who will give him the time and space he needs to feel safe would be just what he’s looking for. We’ve no doubt that he’ll be a cheeky chap and full of fun once settled!
