About This Dog for Adoption

Loki's ideal home

We are looking for a quiet home for Loki with adopters who are willing to cater Loki's exercises to areas where she feels more confident. Loki is fearful of large, open spaces and becomes quite overwhelmed in these situations so would prefer to live a more built up area with walks available that are more enclosed and safe, such as woodland or local pathways. Loki could live with other dogs, pending successful meets here in the centre and she can also live with cats who have lived with dogs previously. Loki could live with children aged 12+ as she can be quite bouncy. Loki would love to find adopters who are happy to work with her around her anxieties, having low expectations that this is something that can be 'cured' and instead focusing on managing her worries and catering things so Loki is more comfortable.

Could you be Loki's perfect match?

Loki is a 5.5-year-old Labrador who is a very sweet girl and would benefit from a home willing to work on her confidence outdoors. Loki loves to play with her toys and receive attention from her foster carers and also likes to interacting with her doggy foster friends!

Labrador Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
