About This Dog for Adoption

Bear's ideal home

Bear is a loveable Labrador who loves to be with people. He might be a little worried at first, but this doesn’t last long. He’s fabulous fun but can get over-excited and not sure what to do with himself. Bear will be able to live with secondary school children though, as long as they’re happy around a large, bouncy dog. He has potential to live with another dog, provided mixes go well in centre prior to adoption as it will need to be the right pairing for him. Bear has lived with a cat before and could potentially do so again as long as the introductions can be done slowly, keeping them apart to begin with.

Could you be Bear's perfect match?

Bear is 5 years old and is a brilliant, bouncy, playful pooch. He adores being around people and he finds it very difficult being left alone. Bear will need a family who are willing to put in the work to ensure that any time left alone is built up very slowly and only with what he is comfortable with. This may be less than a minute at first, so a family who are around all the time will be just what he needs. Fortunately he has a good history of car travel so this should definitely help as he can join his new family on trips out and about. Bear is also fully housetrained. He’s an amazing boy and with the right setup he’s going to make a fabulous addition to his family.

Labrador Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
