About This Dog for Adoption

Mikka's ideal home

Mikka is a beautiful two-year-old Lab cross Shar Pei looking for a loving home. She could share her home with older teenage children. She is looking to be the only dog in the home and a home without cats or small furries. She is housetrained and travels well in the car. She adores company and time left alone is best built up gradually. She could cope with a reasonably busy household, and she may be shy around some new visitors initially.

Could you be Mikka's perfect match?

Mikka is a lovely girl who although lacks some confidence, adores the attention. She likes to be made a fuss of and when she knows you, she loves snuggles. She settles well in the home and is living off-site. Mikka enjoys her walks and can be strong on her lead. She responds well to treats which is great for learning the art of loose lead walking and for learning recall. She knows a sit and wait already but why not teach her some new tricks using positive reward training. She is under socialised with other dogs but can make doggy pals and would benefit from having confident, social dogs to go for walks with from time to time. Mikka is not really into toy play but may enjoy an easy win food puzzle like a snuffle mat or liki mat.

Labrador Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
