About This Dog for Adoption

Shandy's ideal home

Shandy is looking for a forever home that will always have tennis balls on hand! She loves to play fetch and have a run around the fields. Shandy is cuddly and affectionate once she has gotten to know you. She may need more time initially before showing all of her personality. When introducing her to new people, this process needs to be taken slowly, so she can build trust with these new relationships. Shandy could live in a home with teenagers who can help with her training. She is dog-friendly and would love to have walking buddies; however, she will need to be the only dog in her future adopter's home. Shandy requires a private garden where she can enjoy all of the smells of the outdoors!

Could you be Shandy's perfect match?

Shandy is a sweet girl who loves making new friends, but it will take her a little bit of time for her to build trust with you. She absolutely adores playing fetch with any ball she can find (although tennis balls and silicone/rubber balls are her favourites). She politely drops the ball at your feet and waits for it to be thrown. She is a classic lab with her food and will eat all the treats she can. Recently, she has enjoyed socialising and found it exciting to make new dog friends! Once she knows you, she will want all of the attention she can get!

Dogs Trust Adoption Process

Thinking of adopting through Dogs Trust? Here's what to expect before you start your application.

  • Register your interest in adoption on the Dogs Trust website - you can't apply for specific dogs directly.
  • Create an account to favourite dogs you're interested in and help the team understand your preferences.
  • Dogs Trust will match you with dogs that fit your lifestyle and home environment.
  • Some dogs listed here may already be rehomed or reserved, as updates can take time to sync.
  • If matched, you'll go through their adoption and home-check process before taking your new dog home.
