Dora's ideal home

Dora is a sweet, sensitive girl who’s looking for a patient and understanding home where she can blossom at her own pace. She can feel a little unsure when meeting new people and can be a little worried at first, so she’ll need adopters who are happy to take things slowly and let her build trust in her own time. Once Dora gets to know you, her personality really shines. She has a silly side, enjoys playing with her toys, and is very food-motivated so treats are definitely the way to her heart! With the right support, Dora has lots of potential to grow in confidence and enjoy life to the fullest. Dora would be best suited to a calm household with children aged 14+ who can respect her space and understand when she needs a little reassurance. As we don’t have any previous home history for her, she will need help with all the basics, including housetraining and gradually learning to be left alone. She can find veterinary style handling worrying, so she’ll need a gentle, slow approach in these situations. Our behaviour team will be on hand to talk this through and support her new family. Dora is currently still being assessed around other dogs, so for now she will need to be the only pet in the home.

Dora does have an ongoing medical condition that may require medication in the future. Our rehoming team would be happy to discuss his needs with any potential adopters. With patience, kindness, and plenty of tasty treats, Dora will make a rewarding companion for someone willing to give her the time and space she needs to feel safe and secure.
