We live on a large farm and we occasionally breed from our health tested gundogs. Our gundogs are never kennelled and they are much loved members of our family. When we breed, the health, temperament and working ability of the progeny are our priorities.

Both parents are extensively health tested beyond the requirements for Kennel Club Assured Breeders with excellent results.

The puppies will be hereditary clear of CNM; EIC; HNPK; MCD; prcd-PRA; SD2; STGD and they will never be clinically affected by CT; Cystinuria; DM and HUU.

This mating has an Inbreeding Co-efficient of 5.9% which is below and better than the breed average of 6.5%.

The sire, Blazer, is a fast, hard hunting and obedient dog with a kind nature. For more information on Blazer, please google Sussexsharp Gun Dogs.

The dam, Daphne, is home bred out of our excellent working bitch, Doris. Daphne has an excellent nose, she will go through any cover and retrieve game from land and water. Daphne has a strong athletic build and an exceptionally sweet biddable temperament.

This will be Daphne's fourth and final litter. Her first two litters were sired by the late FTCH Shallowbeck Baker Boy and her third litter was sired by Blazer's sire, FTCH Ticefield Dazed N'Confused.

The puppies will be raised in our farmhouse amongst the bustle of family life and they will never be kennelled. We take great care with, and pride in, raising our litters including taking turns to be with the puppies 24/7 for the first two weeks of their lives. We will start the puppies' toilet training as well as provide appropriate socialisation.

We regularly worm, flea and tick treat all our gundogs. Daphne has been wormed daily with P:anacur 10% Oral Suspension from forty days post mating and she will continue to be until two days post whelping. This is done to ensure that the puppies are born with no/minimal worm burden.

The puppies will be weaned on to a premium puppy kibble. They will be regularly wormed and flea treated prior to going to their forever homes.

The puppies will be ready to go to their forever homes from when they are eight weeks old towards the end of June 2026 and they will be suitable for active homes or working/trialling/assistance homes.

If you are interested in providing a forever home for one of our puppies, please provide brief information about the home you can offer including the following details: your experience with dogs/working Labrador Retrievers, whether you are offering an active or working/trialling/assistance home, where in the country you live including details of your property/garden and how long the puppy/adult dog will be left alone on a regular basis.

The puppies will be vet checked and microchipped and they will be homed with:-

- their Kennel Club Registration and microchipping documents;

- a comprehensive Puppy Contract;

- details of the vet who carried out the health check;

- five weeks free insurance;

- a worming and flea treatment record; and

- complimentary premium puppy food and a feeding guide.

Our Puppy Contract allows the new owners at least forty eight hours after collection to take their puppy to their own registered vet and to return the puppy to us for a full refund of the purchase price paid if their vet identifies and states in writing any health defect with the puppy.

The puppies can be viewed from when they are four weeks old with Daphne.

We will set up a WhatsApp group so that the forever owners can receive regular updates before they collect their puppy and keep in contact with each other and us thereafter.

Thank you for taking the time to read our advertisement and please contact us if you have any questions and/or would like to be added to our waiting list.

Labrador Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy without you viewing it first
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website
  • Seller asks you to send money to a bank account with a different name to the person you have been communicating with
  • The dog/puppy is advertised significantly cheaper than similar listings

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
