About This Puppy

Darcy is our stunning black labrador, she has a lovely nature and loves nothing more than lots of fuss, attention and cuddles. She is great with people, children and other dogs and will always come and say hello. She has excellent hip and elbow scores along with a current up to date unaffected eye test, she is also hereditary clear of 225 genetic conditions, and this includes being hereditary clear of breed specifics.

Goose is a big, strong and athletic yellow dog. He has a lovely temperament with a great attitude to life. Extremely loyal and biddable and a pleasure to work and train. He competes regularly in working tests, having had placings, including a first and awarded best looking in the awards from the Labrador Retriever Club. He has shown in the Working Gundog category at Crufts, taking it all in his stride. Goose is an asset as a picking up dog who is also a proven and steady peg dog, he is a natural game finder and loves to work. He is also a perfect pet and great with other dogs and children. A true gent. Goose has been tested and is clear for 262 genetic health conditions, including all the breed specifics along with excellent hip, elbow scores and a current unaffected eye test.

All puppies from this litter will be HEREDITARY CLEAR of 7 and HEREDITARY UNAFFECTED of 15 breed specific conditions. Darcy is also HEREDITARY CLEAR of a further 203 genetic conditions with no variants detected and Goose is tested CLEAR of a further 255 genetic conditions meaning none of the puppies will be affected by the above tested conditions.

This mating produced a mixed litter of puppies.

The first 16 weeks of a puppy’s life are crucial for learning & development, Darcy’s puppies are born in our home so will be exposed to all the usual household noises and general household life. Once the puppies are about 4 weeks old, we also have a puppy development room which includes an outside area that allows the puppies to learn play, socialise and allows us to put further stimulation activities in place. Socialisation and stimulation of our puppies will continue right up to them leaving us.

We also carry out Early Scent Introduction (ESI) and Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) starting at day 3 till day 16. ESI involves a different scent each day (ie. herbs, grass, fruit, items from the garden) placed under their noses for a few seconds with their reactions recorded. ENS involves a different mild exercise each day again only for a few seconds and these reactions will also be recorded. This process is thought to improve stress response later in life and help to increase confidence.

Here at Rameslie Labradors we will expose our puppies to a number of different textures, surfaces, motion, introduction to a crate along with various audio sounds which include sirens, children screaming/playing, fireworks, gunshots and many more. As well as our dogs we have several other animals and when the puppies are in their development room, they will be able to experience some of them along with their different scents and sounds.

We also carry out puppy profiling with our puppies which involves us observing them over the 8 weeks, noting their reactions to different situations and new stimuli. This will help us match puppies with their new owners.

All puppies will be wormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks with Drontal. Before leaving us, they will be microchipped, vet checked and given their first vaccinations of DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis & Parvovirus) and Leptospirosis 2 or 4 depending on your vets recommendation for your area.

Our puppies will be fully endorsed, and these endorsements R Registration and X Export will show on their Kennel Club paperwork.

All puppies will leave us with the following:-

Once the puppies are born, regular updates will be given to new owners so they can see them growing and developing and this also includes a weekly WhatsApp video chat. Two visits will be available, one at 6 weeks to choose and meet your puppy then again at 8 weeks to collect.

When collecting your puppy, we will provide you with change the ownership papers with the Kennel Club, transfer their Microchip details and activate the 4 weeks free insurance with Petplan. We will also require that you bring with you a new collar and ID tag for your puppy as under The Control Of Dogs Order 1992 it mandatory that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the owner’s details on.

A £300 non refundable deposit will be required once the puppies are born to secure your puppy, once this has been received a receipt will be emailed over to you and the original copy will be included in your puppy paperwork folder.

If you are interested in owning one of Darcy and Goose’s puppies and would like to be added to our waiting list, please contact us via Champdogs or our Website (rameslie labradors) for a Puppy Expression of Interest Form. Labrador Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy without you viewing it first
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website
  • Seller asks you to send money to a bank account with a different name to the person you have been communicating with
  • The dog/puppy is advertised significantly cheaper than similar listings

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
