About This Dog for Adoption

Harris's ideal home

Harris is a 6 year old Labrador with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s looking for a home with a private garden where he can play, roll in the grass, and enjoy some outdoor time between walks. Harris can live with secondary school age children who are confident around large, boisterous dogs, and he’s currently in a foster home where he has shown he can be gentle around chickens. He will thrive with an active family who are happy to continue his training.

Could you be Harris's perfect match?

Harris is full of joy and enthusiasm, especially in the mornings when he greets you by gently carrying a shoe or toy. He loves rolling in the grass, especially when it’s covered in morning dew, and will happily play tug-of-war with a rope toy or chase a ball for as long as you’re willing to throw it. He is very food motivated, particularly for cheese and fish.
In his foster home, Harris has shown himself to be affectionate and people-focused. He enjoys company, travels well in the car, and is easy to handle for his harness and lead. On walks, he can be strong and excitable, so he’ll need adopters who are ready to work with him on his training.
Harris has a playful, cheeky side and is happiest when he’s with his people. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving Labrador who will make every day brighter, Harris could be the perfect match. AWE licence number 13090 by West Lothian Council.

Labrador Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
