Paddy
About This Dog
Paddy's ideal home
Paddy is a 9 month old Labrador cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is looking for a patient and understanding family to help him settle into his new home. He has never been in a home before so will need some time to find his paws with home life. He is a friendly boy who loves people, he can be nervous and would be worried by fast movements, loud noises or overhandling and so would be best suited to a home where any children are of Older Primary School age (8+) and can be understanding of this. Due to never being in a home before, Paddy will need someone with him the majority of the time initially, once settled, leaving hours will need to be gradually built up at a pace he is comfortable with. He needs to be the only dog in the home whilst he builds his confidence and socialising skills, however he does have the potential to live with a cat pending careful introductions in the home. He will need his own secure garden so he has a safe space to play in and explore while he builds confidence with the outside world.
Could you be Paddy's perfect match?
Paddy was born in a kennel environment and so has not experienced much of the world. He is inquisitive but often requires reassurance when he is worried. He will need help learning the basics, including housetraining and will need some general confidence building in his new home including building confidence around car travel. Paddy is such a delightful lad and will make a wonderful addition to a family willing to give him the extra time he needs to settle into his new home.
