Clifford

Clifford's ideal home

Clifford is an extremely worried boy who needs an adult only environment, so any children who are likely to be visiting his new home must be over the age of 16. He cannot live with any cats but could share his home with a female dog, no males. He will need somebody at home for most of the day as he may not be house trained and we cannot guarantee he will not be destructive if left. He must have a very secure garden and will need to be able to be secured somewhere away from the front door so as not to escape.

Could you be Clifford's perfect match?

Poor Clifford has seen nothing of the outside world and is currently finding it to be a terrifying place. He will need multiple visits here at the centre and a family who are prepared to follow the advice of our training and behaviour team. Clifford's handlers have been working so hard to gain his trust but it is proving to be a slow and steady process, and one which must be done at Clifford's pace. He has found some confidence from sharing his kennel with a calm and confident female dog, but he is still struggling to take in the world outside of his kennel just now. We expect that Clifford may take a long time to relax and settle in his new home so adopters will need to be prepared for this and not expect too much too soon. He is not currently ready for receiving fusses and does find this quite frightening so will need very strong bonds to be formed in his new home before cuddles will be on the cards. This sweet boy desperately needs a family who are willing to give him all the time and space he needs until he feels confident enough to show his personality to them, and we are sure when this happens there will be no greater reward for all your patience. He needs a quiet home with few visitors, a quiet and secure garden, and plenty of TLC. Our training and behaviour team will be working closely with Clifford's new family throughout and beyond his adoption to help set him up for the best possible success.
