About This Dog for Adoption

Will's ideal home

Will can live with children of high school age and potentially a calm and steady dog. We have no history for Will and he is going to need someone at home with him all the time initially, and will need all his basic training.

Could you be Will's perfect match?

Will is only a young dog and we don't know what he's been through until he arrived in our care. He is very friendly and even more so when the treats come out! Will is finding centre life quite stressful so we're making sure that we keep him nice and busy with training. He responds very well to titbits and keeping calm, and he's able to focus well on his handlers. Will is going to need patient owners who are happy to keep up his training and socialising with other dogs. He doesn't seem to have had much contact with other dogs in his short life and he can be very hit and miss in his behaviours around them. He does show lots of promise and when he's calm and settled he will walk nicely with others, so we think it might benefit him to live with another, and certainly to have friends.

Labrador Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
