About This Dog

Otis's ideal home

Otis is a handsome 4-year-old Welsh Springer Spaniel cross Labrador with a big heart, bags of enthusiasm and a real love for being part of the action. He is friendly, confident and very happy to meet people. He can be wriggly and excited when greeting, but he settles after a few minutes and then enjoys being close, including climbing onto a lap for fuss if he gets the chance.
Otis is an active, intelligent boy who loves getting outdoors. He enjoys forest walks most of all, especially where there are lots of interesting smells and puddles to investigate. He generally walks well on lead and enjoys having a bit of space to explore and sniff. Otis also travels quietly and settles well in the car, which is a lovely bonus for adventures further afield.
At home, Otis is housetrained and has good recall in the garden. He is very toy-focused and loves a game, so he’ll need a family who can offer suitable outlets for his energy while also helping him learn how to switch off and enjoy calmer activities too.
He needs to be the only pet in the home, but he can still enjoy walks with calm doggy companions.
Otis can live with older primary school-aged children who are confident around a bouncy dog, and he would love his own garden for his playing antics. He is looking for adopters with previous experience of high-energy or working breeds, who understand the importance of giving a busy dog the right mix of exercise, mental stimulation, training and downtime. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate adventure buddy with plenty of personality, Otis could be a brilliant match. AWE licence number 13090 by West Lothian Council.
