About This Dog for Adoption

Arley's ideal home

Arley is an enthusiastic one-year-old Labrador who is full of life and excitement. He’ll suit an active, dog-savvy household with adopters who have plenty of time to dedicate to him, with the youngest family members of secondary-school age. Arley is still learning about the big wide world and can be sensitive at times, so he needs a stable home environment with consistent routines and a peaceful place to relax at the end of a busy day. A house in a quiet area (not a busy high street or flat) with a garden of his own is essential, as he can be noise-reactive and may alert-bark at passersby. Arley will need to be the only pet at home and isn’t suitable for properties that share walls with neighbouring dogs. However, he could have walking buddies with well-matched dogs, and it is advised that his adopters continue to work with him on his doggy-social skills. Other training that Arley would benefit from includes loose-lead walking, as he can be strong at times, and working on building his confidence with being left alone. He’ll need a multi-carer household, with adopters who are able to physically manage his strength.

Could you be Arley's perfect match?

Full of potential, Arley is a super smart chap who is bound to make for a fun and interactive companion. Always eager to be involved, he loves to work his brain when learning new skills or investigating enrichment activities. He’s affectionate, food-motivated, and full of enthusiasm for life. His favourite things include games of tug, swimming in the sea, exploring on his walks, soft toys to parade around, and a good old snuggle on the sofa after a day of excitement.

Labrador Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
