Jasper's ideal home

Jasper is a loving Labrador who would love to find a quiet home with a family that will help him on his weight loss journey. A secure garden would be really good to help with this to enable his activity levels to increase gradually. He’s a sweet lad but doesn’t always like his paws being touched. For this reason he’s better off in a household where any children are slightly older, maybe of around secondary school age. He has a good history of living with both cats and dogs, and could do so again. If matched to live with another dog they would need to meet in centre prior to adoption to check that they get along. Jasper is on some pain medication at the moment to help with some pain in his legs. Weight loss will also help ease this.

Jasper is a beautiful older boy (though not too old, he’s only 7!) who is looking for two things: a loving family, and help with shedding a few pounds. He’s a clever lad who knows lots of his training already. He also has a brilliant home history and is fully housetrained, can be left for a few hours and has a good history of car travel. Jasper has been really happy and friendly with everyone he has met here and can’t wait to start the next phase of his journey.

Labrador Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images
