About This Dog for Adoption

Floki's ideal home

Floki is a lovely, sweet, friendly boy who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He has been happy to meet all the new faces at the centre. While we’re not sure if he’s had much experience around children he’s an easy-going chap that should be happy to live with those of primary school age. Floki gets on well with other dogs and would be able to live with them, provided they get along during meets in centre prior to adoption. While we’re not sure if he’s lived with cats before we do think he’s got the potential to do so. This would be in a home that is prepared to take introductions very slowly with the ability to keep them separate at first.

Could you be Floki's perfect match?

Floki is an older boy who at 9yrs old has found himself looking for a home through no fault of his own. He found kennel like a bit tricky so has gone to live in one of our amazing foster homes. He’s fully housetrained and happy to travel in the car. Floki has been used to being left for a few hours before, but only with other dogs. While in foster he much prefers to be in the same room as his foster carers whenever possible and can be vocal when left. Therefore we recommend that time left alone is built back up to ensure he’s happy with it in his new surroundings. He’s a super lovely chap though, so with time to find his paws again after a lot of upheaval we just know he’s going to be an amazing addition to a lucky family.

Labrador Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
