About This Dog

Diego's ideal home

Diego is a stunning 6 year old Labrador cross Collie who is very sweet but can be timid at times so will need a home with minimal visitors to help him settle in. Once he knows you, he is a lovable boy who enjoys a gentle fuss and he is so much fun to be around as he loves to play with toys. He could live with children of Secondary School age who can appreciate his nervous nature and understand toys should be swapped and not taken from him. Diego is underconfident around other dogs and has on occasion growled when they have come closer than he is comfortable with. He has been doing well with his dog socialisation training and can walk a short distance away from calm dogs but he will need to be kept on lead and muzzled outside of the home. Diego must have his own, private and secure garden to help him settle into his new home and allow him a safe space to toilet and play.

Could you be Diego's perfect match?

Diego is a lovely boy who came into our care through no fault of his own. He can be worried and looks to his favourite people for reassurance, and he can be strong on lead so would benefit from wearing a harness. Before Diego has created a bond with you, he can be nervous around handling so he would love to continue his ongoing training around confidence building in his new home, our behaviour team can help advise how to help him with this. Diego will make a lovely companion to a home willing to give him the time and love he needs to settle into his new home.
