About This Dog for Adoption

Hugo's ideal home

Hugo is a 3-year-old poodle / Labrador crossbreed who is looking for a forever home, he is a fun active boy who loves exploring outdoors. He can live with children 14+ who are comfortable around lively energetic dogs. He could possibly live with another dog (depending on dog introduction here at the centre),but does have a slight prey drive and will chase small furry animals. He travels well in the car and enjoys going on days out with his foster family. Hugo can be left up to 3 hours once settled but any longer leaving hours should be built up slowly. As he loves his walks and is still a young boy, he is looking for a active family home and will need access to private secure garden where he can potter around in play with his toys and burn off some energy.

Could you be Hugo's perfect match?

Hugo settled into the foster home straight away like he has always been there. He sleeps on the floor in the lounge overnight and will wait until you get up before he needs the toilet. He is well trained, knows, sit, wait, paw and heal. He has lovely manners, and will bring his ball back to your hand waiting for you to throw it. Hugo enjoys walking with other dogs and he loves water, he is a real water baby always ready for a paddle. The fosterer said he is the best foster dog she has had. Add Hugo to your favourites when you apply to see if you are a match

Labrador Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Labrador Retriever.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Labrador Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
